Acoustic Canopy Enhances Museum Experience
Client: Montshire Museum
Designed an aesthetically pleasing and architecturally compatible acoustic canopy with effective noise damping characteristics
Measured long- and short-term noise levels at critical points in the museum, especially around the reception area, before construction of the canopy
Measured sound levels after canopy construction in the same locations as before to confirm targeted reductions in noise levels
Conducted a controlled experiment of sound pressure levels both outside and inside the canopy to account for variability in the number and loudness of museum guests
Measured reverberation time, post-construction, in various locations around the museum
