Associate – Transportation Market Research

Burlington, VT or White River Junction, VT

Resource Systems Group, Inc. is seeking an Associate to join our transportation survey research practice. This position will be staffed out of our Burlington, VT or White River Junction, VT office and will involve working primarily on travel behavior research for a variety of projects including road pricing, transit, and household travel studies. Staff are involved in all phases of the market research process, including designing and implementing research approaches and questionnaires, managing field data collection efforts, and conducting analysis using Excel, SPSS, SQL and occasionally specialized statistical software. Our associates develop insightful results and communicate with clients verbally and through written reports and presentations.

The ideal candidate for our growing firm is a team player who is extremely organized, detail-oriented and resourceful. This person must have strong communication skills and the desire to manage or quickly advance into managing all aspects of our market research work. The right candidate is strong analytically and has advanced computer skills, but more importantly has a desire to lead transportation survey research projects, manage a deep and capable technical team, and nurture client relationships.

We seek someone with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation, market research, statistics, math, economics, engineering, psychology, business or a similarly relevant field of study; graduate degree a plus
  • 1-3 years experience in the transportation or market research fields using advanced analytic methods and tools, or a masters degree in a related field
  • Interest and/or experience in transportation and survey research methods and tools
  • Outstanding writing, communication, and teaming skills with colleagues and clients
  • Efficient manager of workflows and processes, including planning, priority setting, coordination and execution
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines
  • Aptitude for developing insightful results
  • Strong analytic, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
