Maximum difference scaling

We use maximum difference scaling conjoint (MaxDiff) to determine the values of many secondary features that may not be direct-purchase drivers. MaxDiff is a powerful and direct method to prioritize features whose benefits include:

  • Prioritization of a large number of items
  • Appropriate for product features as well as attitudes and motivations
  • Free-of-scale bias
  • Ideal for segmentation and concept development
  • Simpler to implement and administer than other forms of tradeoff analysis
