Travel demand forecasts provide the basis for many significant infrastructure investments and planning efforts. RSG works extensively with state DOTs, MPOs, municipal governments, and others to ensure that their planning process is backed by accurate, detailed, demand analyses. Our forecasts have been used for understanding transportation and land use interactions and developing transportation supply and demand alternatives. We pride ourselves on delivering solutions tailored to our clients’ needs, as well as building tools and providing training to empower our clients, all while setting the industry standard for quality and defensibility.
Examples of our work

| • |
Developed a custom transportation-land use-air quality model with peak spreading and truck demand. The model is being used for travel forecasting and understanding Induced/Cumulative Impacts.
 |
| • |
Calibrated and implemented an UrbanSim model that has recently been used for a regional visioning exercise and is being used for MPO long-range forecasting.

|
| • |
Collected toll market preference data, developed toll choice models, and forecasted toll feasibility and revenue. |

Capabilities

| • |
Travel demand forecasts for long-range plans, toll studies, transit New Starts studies, corridor studies, air quality conformity, and other client needs.
 |
| • |
Best practice land-use allocation modeling, including defensible linkages to travel models for understanding how accessibility impacts land-use growth.
 |
| • |
Advanced practice choice modeling for transit, toll, and land use modeling.
 |
| • |
Extension of the state-of-the-practice in modeling with custom software, including GIS linkages, integration of micro-scale and meso-scale emissions models, and automated linkages to microsimulation packages.
 |
| • |
Training that empowers clients to make effective use of the models and forecasts.
