Participation Opportunities for the General Public

Regional Planning Commissions and Chittenden County MPO Transportation Advisory Committees (TACs) - VTrans staff will meet with TACs in each region at the start of the planning process and when a Draft Plan is published. The general public is invited to attend these meetings. Meeting dates and locations will be posted on this web page. You can also get information by visiting the web site for each region.

General Public Meetings - Two statewide public meetings will be held using the video conferencing services offered by Vermont Interactive Television. The meetings will occur at the end of Task 1 and after the Draft Plan has been published. The consultant team and VTrans staff will lead the meeting from a central location that will be broadcast to sites located around the state. Meeting participants can watch the presentation and then offer comments that will be heard at all locations. Visit the Vermont Interactive Television web site for a list of locations. Scenario Planning Session: Public Presentation - A public presentation will be held following the all-day Scenario Planning working session to gather initial comments on the recommendations developed by work session participants.

Stakeholder Meetings
In addition to the general public, the outreach effort includes the following meetings with VTrans Staff, regional planners, local officials, and others who will provide advice and guidance through the planning process:

• Advisory Committee - This committee will meet at major milestones, review and comment on work products, and ensure a wide range of interests are considered in the plan. Representatives include: Regional Planning Commissions, Chittenden County MPO, Federal Highway Administration, Agency of Natural Resources, Agency of Commerce and Community Development, Department of Housing and Community Affairs, Vermont League of Cities and Towns, Tourism, and Economic Development.
• Local and State Stakeholder Interviews and Focus Groups - As part of the Scenario Planning process, a group of local and state officials and professionals involved in transportation will be interviewed.
• Scenario Planning Work Session - A work session attended by local, state, and regional transportation stakeholders will be held during the day followed by a public meeting to present the results. The meeting date and location will be posted on this web page.
• Transportation Planning Initiatives Meetings - VTrans staff will keep regional planners up to date on the plan's progress at the TPI meetings held every month in Montpelier.

VTrans Participation
In addition to being represented on the Advisory Committee, regular meetings will be held with the VTrans Executive Staff who will review and comment on work products and two meetings are scheduled with the Vermont Operations Council. An internal working group from Policy and Planning will provide guidance to the project managers.
